Taking prominence on the highest point of the Immanuel Lutheran College grounds, the church was conceptualised as a robust building that plays on the drama of light and shadow.

Assembly for 800 people is arranged by curved seating around the central altar and pulpit, with a glazed wall as the backdrop facing north east and overlooking reflective ponds.

The circular form of the plan is mirrored in the ceiling with overlapping circular forms separated with dramatic shafts of light.

The building is a powerful reminder of the inward beauty of contemplation and worship.
